Dance Workshops:
Every Wednesday at St. Augustine's Church in Rother, Chesterfield we
run some dance workshops.
They started after Christmas
and the numbers have grown steadily.
They recently performed at Birdholme
Club in the Rother ward at a celebration event for the funding the
Coalfields regeneration trust have put in to the area. 7
girls took part in the dance show, where they danced to Rihanna (Pon da
Replay) and Michael Jackson (Thriller). The show
went very well and all of the dancers did extremely well, and enjoyed
the
show.
Now we have around 25 young people
involved in the dance workshops on a regular basis, and they are
learning new dances all the time with more shows in the future planned.
Any young people who are interested in
the dance workshops are more than welcome to attend, for more
information call the Chesterfield Office on 01629 537 640

2012 “Here We Come” Hannah Pretty
good news story
Hannah has come through the ranks at
Sporting Futures where she started
volunteering in the Chesterfield area in both the Rother and Hasland
Wards.
Hannah progressed rapidly from volunteer to casual coach where she is a
firm favourite with the young people who participate at the sports
sessions run locally.
Hannah is also a keen runner and recently was selected to represent
Derbyshire Schools in the English Schools Cross Country Championships
at Liverpool.
The next day Hannah attended Darley Park where she led a group on one
of the “breakfast runs” leading up to the Derby 10k Road
Race.
Hannah received a pair of trainers from Mizuno for her excellent
achievements and efforts.
