Young people at the top of the climbing wall

Over the last 10 months I have been working in Tideswell I have seen a change in the youth of the village.  They now have more activities to do at a night time so they are not as bored as they were and there for have less time for hanging around and getting in trouble.

One activity that is well attended for the youth of the village is the youth club.
The youth club runs every Tuesday night and is regularly attended by 15 plus youngsters.  The youth club opened last November and we only had 10 youngsters on a regular basis then, now as previously mentioned we have 15+ every week.  The activities at the youth club include pool, darts, table tennis, table football, X Box and many more activities.

As the nights are getting longer we are planning to do different activities from BBQ’s to trips and also doing sports on a Tuesday night.
