Sports Factor 2007 

Over the summer 14 young people successfully completed a rigorous three week training programme to become future Community Sports Coaches and volunteers. The course was aimed at young people 16+ leaving school and uncertain about what to do next.

In partnership with Leesbrook Community Sports College, Derby County Football in the Community and Connexions and sponsored by Derby City Councils small change programme all 14 young people completed 10 hours each of voluntary work, gained their level 2 in community sports leadership, the junior football organisers, FUNdamentals of movement, Child protection and emergency first aid! In total 70 accredited awards were gained.

To celebrate their achievements, a team building day at Go Ape in Sherwood forest was organised, all the young people and coaching team that helped deliver all completed the rope swings, tarzan swings and zip slides up to 40 feet up in the trees.
