DERBYSHIRE BUILDING SOCIETY WINS GOLD FOR ITS SUPPORT OF LOCAL RUN

Derbyshire Building Society took to the winners’ podium at the Derbyshire Sports Awards 2011 on Friday 11 November where it won the ‘Sports Sponsorship’ award for its support of the annual Derby 10k race since 2003.

The event has grown steadily from 800 to 3,500 entrants with entries for last year’s event closing five weeks early because all spaces had been filled. Next year’s event will have an additional 1,000 spaces. Judges also praised the Building Society for giving substantial financial and in-kind support to ensure a quality community event.
